ABOUT

A Short Record

Born in 1972. Working since 1995. Writer, trainer, consultant, musician, father,
and long-time observer of how people live inside systems, stories, institutions,
families, and private memory.

STATEMENT

The public record of my work includes books, technical training, enterprise systems,
consulting, course materials, articles, and independent projects. The private record,
or what used to be private, includes songs, stories, essays, family history, grief,
and the repeated attempt to understand a life while still living it.

I grew up in a big Boston Irish Catholic world where family, weddings, wakes, humor,
memory, and silence all carried equal weight. Later came work, publishing, consulting,
technology, children, loss, divorce, reinvention, and a stronger desire not to split
the practical self from the creative self.

This site exists because I no longer want the record to be fragmented. The books belong
with the songs. The systems work belongs with the family stories. The professional line
and the personal line are not separate. They are the same line, viewed from different angles.
